A Trip to France

During the weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to go to France with my Rotary club! A Rotary club in France is quite close to my host club and the two coordinated to have a get together in France. It was a wonderful time and such a bizarre experience to be in France and understand their language.

After a two hour car ride we were in Lens, France where we visited the Louvre-Lens, an extension of the Louvre museum in Paris.

After we went to Lille where we stayed the night and spent the next day touring the town and then traveled to an old pool that had been turned into a art gallery.

(excellent example of the triangle construction seen in Flemish regions. Lille
is called the French Flanders because of the historic involvement of the Flemish
in the area)

La Piscine

Though it was only two days, it was a wonderful experience and I greatly enjoyed the company of Marce, the other exchange student hosted by the club, and the Belgians and French alike!
